We take all disputes seriously. Our four-stage process ensures every complaint receives a thorough, impartial review — from the original reporter to an independent external ombudsman.
Reach out directly to the reporter or editor responsible for the article. Their contact information appears at the end of each article. Most factual disputes and clarification requests are resolved at this stage.
If the reporter's response is unsatisfactory, or if your concern involves editorial standards, sourcing practices, or ethical conduct, escalate to our Standards Editor for a formal review.
For unresolved disputes involving significant factual errors, serious ethical violations, or matters of editorial policy, you may request a formal review by the Editor-in-Chief. This is the final internal review stage.
If you remain unsatisfied after exhausting our internal process, you may refer your complaint to an independent external press standards body. We cooperate fully with all recognized press ombudsman processes.
If you believe our reporting is defamatory or otherwise legally actionable, we strongly encourage you to contact us before initiating legal proceedings. Many disputes — including those involving alleged defamation, privacy violations, and right of publicity claims — can be resolved through corrections, clarifications, or right-of-reply opportunities without litigation.
NonProfit Media operates under the full protections of the First Amendment and applicable shield laws. We will vigorously defend our reporting and our sources. However, we are always willing to engage in good-faith dialogue about concerns before legal action is taken.

We are committed to fair, accurate, and ethical reporting. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly and transparently. All corrections are published on our Corrections page and noted in the original article within 24 hours of verification. For information about our use of AI tools in journalism, see our AI Transparency Policy. For our full ethical framework, see our Ethics Policy.
Email [email protected] or use the contact form with the "Submit a Tip" category. For maximum security, we recommend using ProtonMail or Signal. All sources are protected under our source protection policy — we will never reveal a source's identity without explicit consent.
A correction is issued when we have published a factual error — a wrong date, name, statistic, or misattributed quote. A clarification is issued when our reporting was technically accurate but could be reasonably misunderstood. Both are published on our Corrections page and noted in the original article within 24 hours of verification.
Yes. If you are the subject of our reporting, you have the right to respond. Contact [email protected] with your response (maximum 500 words). We will publish substantive responses as an addendum to the original article, clearly labeled as a right-of-reply statement.
Stage 1 (reporter/editor): 2 business days. Stage 2 (Standards Editor): 5 business days. Stage 3 (Editor-in-Chief): 10 business days. We aim to resolve all disputes within 17 business days total. Complex disputes involving legal review may take longer, and we will communicate any delays proactively.
Depending on the nature of the error: minor factual errors receive a correction appended to the article; significant errors may result in a full correction notice at the top of the article; serious errors may result in a retraction of the article with a published explanation; ethical violations trigger an internal review and may result in disciplinary action. All corrections are published on our Corrections page.
